Silkroom

Silkroom is a bastard of a furniture and a room. One large architectural object occupies the space and changes the perception of the existing room. While sleeping, relaxing, reading, working and storing things, one can explore new views of and into the space. The object has a shiny, mutter of pearl varnish on the outside, like the light skin of our client. Certain elements are cut out, flipped and turned and form a walk-in-closet, a bed, a sideboard, a desk and several shelves. The sections areas are mahogany red. Silkroom was built in 2002 in Berlin-Charlottenburg.
